Ryan Wilsey to manage Parnassus Small-Cap Fund
with Jerome Dodson Effective May 2, 2011

San Francisco, California - March 1, 2011

Ryan Wilsey has been working closely with Jerome Dodson on the Parnassus Small-Cap Fund since joining the team as a senior research analyst in 2009. Effective May 2, 2011, Ryan Wilsey will manage the Parnassus Small-Cap Fund along with current portfolio manager, Jerome Dodson.

This move reflects the growing prominence of the Fund within Parnassus Investments. As of February 28, 2011, the Parnassus Small-Cap Fund’s assets have grown to $755 million, up from just $115 million at the end of 2009, making the Parnassus Small-Cap Fund the second largest of the Parnassus Funds. “I’m delighted to have Ryan Wilsey join me as a portfolio manager of the Parnassus Small-Cap Fund,” said Jerome Dodson. “Since Ryan started with us as a senior research analyst, he has made a significant contribution to the management of the Fund, and I’m looking forward to a successful partnership with him.” When asked about his new role, Wilsey replied “Jerry has been a great mentor, and I look forward to providing value to our shareholders in my new role as portfolio manager."

Biography
Ryan Wilsey is a senior research analyst and joined Parnassus Investments in 2009. He has been a professional investor in both public and private equity since 2001, working at Summit Partners, Greylock Partners and Scout Capital. Prior to his investment career, he worked at Opsware Inc., a software company that was later sold to Hewlett-Packard. Ryan was a Parnassus research intern in 1998 and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Princeton University and received his master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
