Ian Sexsmith and Romahlo Wilson to manage Parnassus Fund with Jerome Dodson Effective May 1, 2013

San Francisco, California – May 1, 2013

Parnassus Investments announces the promotions of Ian Sexsmith and Romahlo Wilson to Portfolio Managers of the Parnassus Fund (PARNX) effective May 1, 2013. Wilson and Sexsmith join Jerome Dodson, lead Portfolio Manager of the strategy.

Ian Sexsmith has over 9 years of industry experience and joined Parnassus Investments in 2011. He currently serves as a Senior Research Analyst and will continue this role alongside his new Portfolio Manager role. Prior to joining the firm, Sexsmith worked for Scotiabank and for TD Bank Financial Group in Toronto. He received his bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Manitoba, Canada and his master's degree in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley. Sexsmith also holds the CFA designation and is a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco. He says, "I'm excited to manage the Parnassus Fund with Jerry and Rom. Partnering with our founder on our namesake fund is a great opportunity, and I look forward to continuing to provide value to our shareholders in my new role."

Romahlo Wilson has over 6 years of industry experience and joined Parnassus Investments in 2011. He currently serves as a Senior Research Analyst and will continue this role alongside with his new Portfolio Manager role. Prior to joining the firm, Wilson worked for Cleantech Approach and in Houlihan Lokey's Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Raised in New York, he is an alumnus of Stuyvesant High School. Wilson received his master's degree in business administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in finance and public policy. He says, "Working at Parnassus with Jerry, Ian and the rest of our team has been a wonderful experience and a privilege. I am excited by the promotion, but also humbled by the greater level of responsibility Ian and I now assume. It's a responsibility you always keep sight of as a senior research analyst, but one that I think defines the role of a good portfolio manager.
