Billy Hwan to Join Jerome Dodson on the Parnassus Endeavor Fund

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, April 12, 2018

Billy J. Hwan will join Parnassus Investments founder and CEO Jerome L. Dodson as a portfolio manager for the Parnassus Endeavor Fund, effective May 1, 2018. There will be no change to the mandate of the Endeavor Fund, which is a top performing socially responsible fund over the long term.*

Mr. Dodson, who is lead portfolio manager for the Endeavor Fund, said, “I’m very pleased that Billy will be partnering with me on the Endeavor Fund. He has proven his expertise as a portfolio manager for the Parnassus Asia Fund, which we managed together for several years. I am looking forward to working closely with him again—this time to select stocks for the Endeavor Fund.”

Mr. Hwan was appointed portfolio manager of the Parnassus Asia Fund in 2014, after joining Parnassus Investments as a senior research analyst in 2012. He also interned with the Parnassus investment team in 2011. Mr. Hwan’s prior experience includes research on both domestic and international equities at Dodge & Cox as well as equity research at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.

Mr. Hwan graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Houston and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley Haas School of Business. He has also earned both the CPA and CFA credentials.

The Parnassus Endeavor Fund is a fossil fuel-free fund that was launched in 2005 on the premise that good workplaces are typically also good investments. The $5 billion fund invests in domestic large cap equities issued by companies that Parnassus believes to have strong moats, increasing relevance, positive ESG profiles and shareholder-focused management teams.
